About BirthdayPerks.my

BirthdayPerks.my is a free, community-maintained list of birthday perks in Malaysia: the freebies, discounts and treats that restaurants, cafés, attractions, shops and banks give on your birthday. It lists 613 perks so far, with 2350 edits.

Who runs it

BirthdayPerks.my is run by a small team in Malaysia. It brings birthday perks from websites, apps, posters, emails and SMS into one place, with when each one works and what you need to claim it.

We aren't connected to the brands listed, and we can't promise an outlet will honour a perk. Some cards are marked “Sponsored” and link to other websites; they aren't perks.

How perks get added

Anyone who signs in can add a perk or fix one. We add perks too, and ours always come from a source we have read (the brand's own page, app or announcement, or an article about it) or from a first-hand report.

Perks seen in person carry a “Seen first-hand” tag that says how: an in-store poster, a birthday email or SMS, what staff said, or a receipt or voucher. When you add a perk, add the link too, so others can check it. Perks without a source say so.

How perks are checked

After trying a perk, members vote “✓ Worked for me” or “✗ Didn't work / wrong”, and marking a perk as claimed counts as a “✓ Worked for me” vote. “Last confirmed” is the last time someone said it worked. Votes cast before the latest edit are flagged, because the perk may have changed since.

Signed-in members can write reviews, and a “Claimed” badge shows when the reviewer claimed the perk. Halal status is only set with evidence: “Halal certified” means a JAKIM or state certificate, and “Muslim-friendly” means pork-free but not certified.

Every edit is public. Each perk's history shows what changed and when, and any older version can be restored. When a perk stops working it's marked “No longer available” and moves to the end of the list. You can follow every edit on the recent changes page.

Spotted a mistake?

Fix it yourself: open the perk, choose “Edit this perk” and save. The old version stays in the history, so nothing is lost.

Or vote “✗ Didn't work / wrong” on the perk so others know, or email hello@birthdayperks.my with the perk's link and what's wrong. If you represent a brand and want a listing corrected or removed, email us too.

Before you go

Brands change and end their perks, sometimes without notice. Check when a perk was last confirmed, and ask the outlet before you order.
